Description : Bergamot essential oil is well-known for its calming effects, its ability to relax brain waves, and balance the nervous system.
It reduces anxiety, nervous tension, and stress. It is mood uplifting, and helps to relieve fatigue.
Use : Used in the treatment of depression, stress, tension, fear, hysteria, infection (all types including skin), anorexia, psoriasis, eczema, digestive system
Blends well with : Lavender, Neroli, Cypress, Jasmine, Juniper Berry, Lemon, Chamomile, Geranium, Rose, and Clary Sage.
Direction:
Oil Burner : Add 4 drops of essential oil for a burning time of 20 minutes.
Massage : Dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml. of carrier oil.
Inhalation : Put 5 drops in 200 ml. of steamed water and inhale for 3-5 minutes.
Bath : Put 15 drops of essential oil in the bath tub for a 20 minutes bath.
Precautions : Bergamot oil can cause burns when used on a sensitive skin which is then exposed to sunlight, as the high content of bergaptene can cause photo-toxicity. It is advisable to keep out of the sun if this oil is used on the skin.
